The International Green Play town

Two tightrope artists tell stories of stranded sailors while being two metres above ground. An Iraqi artist plays music from his home on an instrument made of a coconut shell. These are impressions of the international green play town. All together 14 of such cultural events are being organised by the Science Shop Bonn in 2016 and 2017 in collaboration with the cultural centre Brotfabrik at the nature discovery site in Bonn-Dransdorf. The project receives funding by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland.

The green play town has always been an intercultural meeting point. The Africa-festival is held on its site every year and the “international garden”, another project of the Bonn Science Shop, is located right next to it. With the project “International green play town” the spot will become even more diverse und cross-cultural.

Fostering intercultural life together

As part of the open Sundays and on additional dates during the summer months artists will take their visitors with oriental tales to faraway places or enchant them with fantastical music. Some of the musicians and actors are from other countries, others have engaged themselves with foreign cultures for a long time. In addition participants of the “International Garden” also take a share in the project. The project “international green play town” aims to foster the cultural life together in Bonn.

The latest program of “international green play town” will be published here (in German) shortly before the Open Sundays. The admission to all events is free.
